“In order to see New Results you have to take New Actions”. This is something I have finally gained the humility to accept. There’s no way in this world can we expect to reach new milestones if we continue to take the same actions we’ve been taking for all our lives. I have been very guilty of sticking to a routine of actions and expecting different results and being disappointed by the familiar outcome that consistently arises. In those cases, I can only blame myself.
I think one of the reasons some people, including myself, stick to the actions that we know is because of the fear of failure that comes when trying something new. It’s easier to do something you’ve done a million times than to go out of the way to try something different. I’ve realized that in order to grow into the person I want to become, I have to challenge myself to go beyond my comfort zone.
This is probably one of the hardest things for me being that I dislike the feeling of vulnerability. However, I’ve come to discover the beauty of being vulnerable. When I’m faced with a situation or task that is simple or easy to achieve, I tend to rely only on my own ability, strength, and wisdom. However, when I confront a BIG challenge or something that requires ALOT of me, I tend to go to God for his guidance.
Being vulnerable opens us up for growth. The greatest lessons learned in life have come from some of our most vulnerable moments. 2 Corinthians 12:9 says, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest on me.That is why, for the sake of Christ, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong”
This verse encourages me to embrace those moments of uncertainty because I know it allows God to intervene in my life. I know that staying in my comfort zone is very comfortable but I also know that diamonds are formed with pressure. Knowing that God’s grace is made strong in my weakness takes away all the doubt and fear that comes to my head when I think about going beyond what I’m accustomed to. I hope this verse encourages you guys too!
